Members of the Pernas Lab recently participated in the 2026 MIMG Annual Retreat, a department-wide event that brings together faculty, trainees, and staff from UCLA's Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics to share research, foster new collaborations, and strengthen the MIMG community. The retreat is held each year to provide a space for scientific exchange and community building as the department begins a new academic year.
We were proud to have several lab members representing our research at the meeting. Tim delivered an oral presentation highlighting his latest work, while Nick and Sarah presented posters and discussed their research with fellow students, postdocs, and faculty from across the department.
The retreat provided a wonderful opportunity to learn about the exciting science happening throughout MIMG, reconnect with colleagues, and engage in discussions that spark new ideas and collaborations. We are grateful to the organizers for putting together another successful retreat and look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year.
Congratulations to Tim, Nick, and Sarah for representing the lab so well!
